
2018 YEAR-END MARKED BY TWO NEW CONTRACTS WITH EDIA
TPF was the company selected by EDIA - Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infraestruturas do Alqueva (Alqueva’s Development and Infrastructure Company) for the Management and Construction Supervision Contracts for Morgavel Water Supply System Connection and for Cuba-Odivelas Block Irrigation Infrastructures, both integrated in Alqueva’s Multipurpose Development.
With a planned duration of 15 months, the construction works of Morgavel Water Supply System includes the construction of the water pipe and other elements of the connection between Roxo-Sado Water Supply System and Morgavel System surge shaft, as well as the construction of the water pipe and other elements for the connection of Morgavel channel to Fonte Serne reservoir.
The construction contract of the Irrigation Infrastructures of Cuba-Odivelas Block, with an expected duration of 14 months, includes the improvement of an area of approximately 2790 ha located on the right bank of the Alvito-Pisão channel.
The scope of these services includes, in addition to the supervision of the construction works, the health and safety coordination, topographic support, environmental monitoring and verification of the final drawings of the specialty designs of this work.

TPF SUPERVISES THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HOTEL AT AV. DUQUE DE ÁVILA, IN LISBON
TPF has an ongoing management and supervision contract for the demolition and construction of a new hotel in a building located at Av. Duque de Ávila n. º 203, in Lisbon.
The intervention in the building includes the demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new building with 4 below ground and 10 above ground storeys, in a construction area of about 5028 m2, designed for hotel business.
TPF services, with a planned duration of 21 months, include the revision and approval of Detailed Design, control on the tender process for construction contract, management and supervision of construction works and safety and health coordination on-site.

EXTENSION A OF ALGIERS METRO LINE 1
The end of 2018 was also marked by the inauguration of the totality of the extension A of the Line 1 of Algiers Metro, located in the heart and historical centre of the city. This project, fully developed in underground excavation, included the execution of a tunnel with a total length of about 1,450 m, two mining stations and respective accesses to the surface, as well as three ventilation shafts.
The works were very complexes due to their development on a city zone densely occupied on the surface, comprising residential buildings of very different periods and of significant historical and heritage value.
The services provided to Contractor’s Consortium consisted in the development of the final design of the part associated to civil construction, and subsequent collaboration in the monitoring and construction works’ supervision in the phase associated with systems’ finishing and installation, highlighting this way TPF's multidisciplinarity and its ability to provide different integrated engineering services.

POST-CONSTRUCTION TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO STORMWATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM IN BEIRA, MOZAMBIQUE
The consortium led by TPF is providing the post-construction technical assistance to Beira’s city Stormwater Drainage System, in Mozambique, which aims to support Beira’s Municipality in structuring the human, technical and material capacities needed for an efficient and sustainable management, operation and maintenance of the system.
These works include the creation of the Beira’s Drainage System Department, the development of a Commissioning Plan and of an Operation and Maintenance Plan, which will allow to organize, plan and create the necessary methods and procedures to systematize the drainage system maintenance and operation.
This contract continues the work previously carried out in the rehabilitation of Beira’s Stormwater Drainage System, where TPF was the leader of the consortium responsible for the Detailed Design and for the Management and Supervision of construction works inaugurated in September 2018.

TPF IN CHARGE OF THE HYDRAULIC BEHAVIOUR STUDIES FOR CANEÇAS/RAMADA/ODIVELAS’ DIVERSION SYSTEM
The Consortium, led by TPF, is preparing, for the company Águas do Tejo Atlântico, the hydraulic behaviour studies for Caneças / Ramada / Odivelas’ Diversion System, as well as the Final Design for the control of mixed domestic rainwater discharges.
With a planned duration of 6 months, our work includes the preparatory studies, the study of the system hydraulic operation, the preparation of the mixed domestic rainwater discharges’ control plan and the final design for the control of the mixed domestic rainwater discharges.
These works are being developed by a multidisciplinary team that includes experts in hydraulic modelling and in other different engineering specialties.

FAJÃ DA OVELHA / PONTA DO PARGO EXPRESSWAY – 2ND PHASE
TPF is responsible for the Assistance to the Contract Supervision and for the Road Works’ Safety Coordination of the 2nd Phase of Fajã da Ovelha / Ponta do Pargo Expressway, in the west of Madeira island, promoted by Madeira’s Regional Government through the Regional Secretariat of Equipment and Infrastructures.
This project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, is 5.7 km long and involves the completion of 4 Tunnels, the execution of 6 Bridges and Viaducts, 4 Overpasses and 6 Reservoirs for Irrigation and Fire Fighting, in addition to various landscaping interventions and road connections to the existing road network, ensured by 4 roundabouts and 11 branches, as well as the construction of 6 realignments to enable the replacement of existing roads.

TPF DISTINGUISHED AT PT GLOBAL WATER AWARDS 2018
TPF was distinguished, in the "Services" category, of the 2018 Portugal Global Water Awards, promoted by the newspaper Água & Ambiente (Water & Environment) and PPA (Portuguese Water Partnership), which award the Portuguese water cluster companies’ internationalization.
The distinction was awarded for the project " Strategic Plans for the Integrated Development of Water Resources in Zambézia Province in Mozambique."
This project, carried out for the Ministry of Land, Environment and Rural Development, is a plan of strategic relevance for the Republic of Mozambique through the integrated development of water resources in Zambézia province.
NEW CONTRACT IN CAMEROON
UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) has entrusted TPF with the development of the Feasibility Study for the installation of small-scale hydro in the Manjo region, at Cameroon coastline, thus reinforcing our presence in a country where we have been working since 2015.
These studies, included in the strategy to promote the development of the energy sector in Cameroon, also comprise, besides the technical, economic and financial feasibility studies, the socio-environmental impact assessment, the final design and the elaboration of the tender process for the construction contract.
With a planned duration of 6 months, this project, with multilateral funding from the Government of Cameroon and from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), will be developed by a multidisciplinary team that includes Portuguese and Cameroonian experts.
