SUPERVISION OF THE NEW HOSPITAL OF MADEIRA
TPF is undertaking, in consortium, the Works Supervision and Coordination of Madeira Central Hospital, for the Regional Government of Madeira through the Regional Division of Equipment and Infrastructures.
With a floor area of 172 100 m2, the new hospital unit will be divided into 3 main areas: hospitalisation, medical services and outpatient appointments, and equipped with 605 beds, parking area for 1.160 vehicles and a heliport.
This contract, with an investment value of approximately 340 million euros, will involve the mobilisation of a multidisciplinary team comprising several engineering disciplines and architecture, over an estimated period of 5 years.
BIM AT TPF
As part of its commitment to innovation and digital transition, TPF has been developing several projects using the Building Information Modeling (BIM), by implementing in a progressive way the use of this methodology in work processes.
The use and exploration of BIM tools and methodologies in designs of several disciplines (architecture, structures, geotechnics, hydraulics), for public and private clients, has allowed to prove the numerous advantages of this tool, enabling an integrated and collaborative vision of the design, with a consequent increase of design quality.
More recently, TPF invested in the creation of Dynamo routines that improve the productivity of design teams, in-house training dedicated to experienced modellers with a strong practical component and sought to explore the limits of modelling, and new ways of communicating the design, such as production of architectural models from 3D printing, or the use of virtual reality.
Also in the domain of supervision, it has been possible to prove significant advantages, in terms of verifying and controlling the execution of a design with the use of drones, an example of which is the work that has been carried out in the Supervision of the New Rail Link from Évora to the Eastern Line.
TPF has also participated in the preparation of the Comprehensive Guide to Implement BIM in local Authorities, which was presented in a Webinar promoted by the Southern Regional Council of the Civil Engineering College of Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portuguese Engineers Association), and in the translation of ISO 19650-1 – Information Management using Building Information Modeling – Part 1: Concepts and Principles.
CRATO MULTI-PURPOSE HYDRAULIC PROJECT
TPF is carrying out, in consortium, the “Assessment of sustainability and integrated development of water and energy resources of Crato Multi-Purpose Hydraulic Project”, promoted by CIMAA (Inter-municipal Community of Alto Alentejo).
The aim of these studies is to increase the project’s potential by promoting a sustainable and integrated exploitation of several infrastructures within the Crato multi-purpose Hydraulic Project, namely the Pisão Dam, the small hydropower plant (1 MW), the inflows reinforcement system for the Pisão Dam, and the photovoltaic solar power plant of 150 MW.
The necessary facilities and accessory networks are also included in the flow regulation infrastructures scope, in particular those for human consumption and irrigation, water intakes, road networks, telecommunications and their integration with the existing networks.
The contract, with a planned duration of 9 months, includes the studies for socio-economic development, covering the entire region of influence, as well as the ones regarding flow regulation and energy production infrastructures, and environmental.
SUPERVISION OF THE BAILUNDO CENTRALITY INFRASTRUCTURES AND EQUIPMENT
TPF is performing the Bailundo Centrality construction supervision of infrastructures and social equipment, located in Huambo province, in Angola.
Within the infrastructures, our teams will be responsible for the construction works management and control concerning access roads, harvesting system, treatment and supply of drinking water, stormwater and wastewater drainage networks, wastewater treatment system, electric power networks, parking and sports pitches.
The construction of different social facilities is expected to serve around three thousand families, namely two kindergartens, two children centres, two primary schools and a secondary school, a polytechnic institute, a police station and a health centre.
DESIGN OF IC1 (A1) - ST° OVÍDIO JUNCTION / ARRÁBIDA BRIDGE
TPF is developing the Final Designs of the A1 - Northern Motorway road sections, between Stº Ovídio Junction and the northern abutment of Arrábida Bridge, in Oporto district.
The studies aim at promoting the upgrading of the section from IC1 (A1) - Coimbrões junction (km 298+700) / Arrábida bridge (km 302+970) and the expansion to 2x3 lanes and the upgrading of the section from IC2 (A1) - Stº Ovídio junction (Km 296+420) / Coimbrões junction (Km 299+600). This last section, subject to expansion, is intended to eliminate punctual bottlenecks from this A1 road section.
The main interventions concern pavement rehabilitation, signalling equipment and lighting renovation, noise minimisation measures assessment, specific interventions in Arrábida Bridge and expansion to 2x3 lanes, provided at the expense of the existing central reservation and increasing the roadway width.
EXTENSION OF CUF SANTARÉM HOSPITAL
José Mello Group entrusted TPF with the Supervision and Health and Safety Coordination of the Construction Contract for the Extension of CUF Santarém Hospital.
With a 12-months construction period, the CUF Santarém Hospital extension plan estimates approximately one thousand square metres for the enlargement of health care services.
SUPERVISION OF THE LUENA CENTRALITY INFRASTRUCTURES
Our teams are also carrying out the construction works supervision of hydraulic and electrical infrastructures for the Luena Centrality, located in Moxico province.
The construction works include not only the construction of the Centrality's internal infrastructure networks, but also the external water supply infrastructures to the existing WTP, a reservoir, a WWTP and the storm and wastewater collection and transport system from the Centrality to the wastewater treatment plant, as well as the connection of the centrality's internal electrical network to the public system.
DESIGN OF ER238 - CERNACHE DO BONJARDIM
TPF was awarded the public tender promoted by IP - Infraestruturas de Portugal, S.A., to prepare the Final Design of the road section “ER238 (regional road) - LD STM/CTB (Km 22+720) and proximity to Cernache do Bonjardim (KM 34+835)”.
This contract aims at characterising the existing situation and preparing the Final Design of ER238 road section, located in the Castelo Branco district, between km 22+720 and km 34+835, over an approximate length of 12 kilometers, in order to improve traffic and safety conditions.
With a 7,5 months duration, the studies include several disciplines, namely: Cartography and Topography, Roads Geometric Designs Geotechnics, Earthworks, Drainage, Paving, Structures, Expropriations, Traffic Studies, Environmental Impact Studies, Signalling and Safety, among others.
